«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 295 of 295the devastating flu epidemic of 1918 greatly influenced her to be a successful nurse someday.because of that phenomenon she felt the effect of illness and death on families.they had a big difference of florence nightingale because hildegard peplau focused on the interpersonal relationship of the nurse and the patient.she cares not only the physical condition of the patient but also the emotional,mental,social as well as the spiritual being of the patient.
as a child she had experienced the impact of illness and death on families because her family was a part of that devastating flu epidemic and she had experienced how hard to see your family in pain.
during her career she really contribute well in our nursing practice because without her,i think we can never really cure the patient as a whole because we never know that her soul is wounded too.as a nurse in the future and as a nursing student in the present we must keep in our minds that it's not only the body who had wounded but also our souls.
that's why thanks to Hildegard Peplau because without her our nursing profession wouldn't be in it's state right now.

I was impressed in the Psychodynamic Nursing Theory which was contributed by Hildegard Peplau. She is a person who was very dedicated to her profession. Hildegard Peplau is also a very excellent nurse because she formulated the Psychodynamic theory or the Psychodynamic Nursing. And her life is very adventurous. She travelled mostly all over Europe, America, and Africa because of her profession. Her success is from her own perspiration and determination because Peplau is not like Nightingale that grew from a rich family so to reach her goals she thrived harder. At her time when women where forced to choose between marriage and work. Like Nightingale she did not marry. Unlike the teenagers today that they are very progressive in their decision. There are so many teen-age mom in these time. If Nightingale believed that she was called by our Lord, Peplau believes that she was born for nursing. For the the poor student that is determined to succeed the best model is Hildegard Peplau.

I haven't finished watching the clip because there seems to be something wrong with my internet connection.But i think the fact that hildegard peplau had witnessed such a thing(the epidemic) when she was a child played a big role in her becoming a nurse and developing such a theory.The Psychodynamic Theory is very important and helpful to nursing care.One of the most important things to feel better is human warmth--to feel that somebody is there,and there are just times when the family cannot provide it.That is when the nurse comes to the picture.As the text message says,the real essence of being a nurse is being able to love and take care of people at their weakest moment.

A nice clip..Although the movie did not cited those adventures of Hildegard Peplau , It is also alright because we gain a lot of information and knowledge about her life including all those journey in her nursing profession.
Her unstoppable career and mission for her enlightened the path of the nurses that time and even at present becauce of articles and books she published.She had been a teacher in some nursing school and by that she teaches psychiatric nursing.

When it was first watched by our section, I have noticed that some of my classmates showed emotional feelings such as falling of tears from their sad and pathetic eyes. Nightingale and Peplau are both devoted in giving their life to serve health deprived beings thus making relevant differences in the industry. Hildegard Peplau was the 2nd daughter of the six children of Gustav and Ottylie Peplau.She was born in Sept 01,1909 in Reading Pennsylvania. She sees the spread of epidemic disease so that’s why maybe she decided t become a nurse.She was the mother of Psychiatric Nursing also the Psychiatric nurse of the century. She received the nurses highest honor. She was a author, writer and a researcher and she died on march 17, 1999 at the age of 89. For me she was a great people not only a s a nurse but as the whole personality she have for giving her compliments and awards. She is not an ordinary person for me.
Hildegard was a truly inspiring theorist for me, not only did she received many awards but also was able to publish about a dozen books about nursing. She is a role model for me to achieve as much as she did, and I think she is one of the best theorist in her time.

When I viewed the video clip of her life, i was carried away by my emotion. She got a heart and eye for the sick person. I admired her for being that passionate!
She placed an emphasis on the understanding of behavior of others. I myself can't understand why others are acting like this or that. I always get mad with them but what behavior they showed me means something good which i never noticed. Through Peplau, I learned that we must consider the behavior of others and better understand what do they mean by that.

The person is a man who is an organism that lives in an unstable balance of a given system. The four phases of Nurse-Patient Relationship(Orientation, Identification, Exploitation, Resolution) helps the nurses to be easy deal with the patient. The Nursing roles, Role of the stranger, Roleofthe resource person, Teaching Role, Leadership Role, Surrogate Role, and Counseling Role helps the patient to cooperate with the nurse and make plans on how will the patient recover from his illness.

i had read an article in RD about a basilar thrombatic stroke patient whose brain was damaged because of an accident, was healed by a psychiatrist instead of physical therapist. the psychiatrist taught him to use his mind to ease his illness. the concept wherein the patient engages in an activity is called "neuroplasticity" which can physically alter the brain.
in the case situated above, the mental aspect also affects the person's healing. an individual who is heavy with his everyday stress wud not recuprate, instead his situation will be aggravated because his genes may turn on and off. in order to listen her burden he needs someone to xpress his emotions--it's the nurse will do the job. a nurse must be a listning friend in order to find the cause of the patient's suffering, and thus, the patient, will develop a trust to the nurse. if that happens, the patient would feel at ease as the nurse gives the unconditional care.
