She recognized early on the importance of an outcomes orientation, health promotion, continuity of care, patient advocacy, multidisciplinary scholarship, integration of the arts and sciences, and boundary spanning.
Her elegant definition of nursing, with its emphasis on complementing the patient's capabilities, provides a clear direction for what nursing should be.
With her silky drawl, bright blue eyes, wispy curls, and beautiful clothes, Miss Henderson was the embodiment of an impish Southern gentlewoman. She was the most gracious hostess I have ever encountered, and had a wicked sense of humor.
She was the incarnation of those Greek verities--the good, the true, and the beautiful. She was shaped by the aesthetic that produced beautiful surroundings in honey and rose colored tones (she gave up the idea of becoming an interior designer/architect when there was a need for nurses in World War I), as well as elegant arguments embellished by references to a literature much broader than just the nursing literature.
Even when her memory and hearing started to fail, she was not limited, because her curiosity and interest in people elicited from them an engagement in the issues that then set in motion her own creative juices.
Virginia Henderson was arguably the most famous nurse of the 20th century. Because that was the case, Sigma Theta Tau's International Nursing Library bears her name. She was only willing to permit use of her name if the electronic networking system to be developed would advance the work of staff nurses by getting to them current and jargon-free information wherever they were based.
Died on March 19, 1996 at the age of 98, after partaking chocolate cake and ice cream and saying goodbyes to her family and friends. A family-sponsored memorial service was held at Battel Chapel on the campus of

Virginia Henderson has been called the "First Lady of Nursing" and the "First Truly International Nurse". She is an achiever personality. The honors bestowed on Henderson are numerous. She introduced the concept of mind and body of a person as inseparable or cannot be separated. She also gave emphasis in prioritizing health promotion as more important than care of the sick.In caring for the sick,it is the responsibility of the nurse to help the patient manage his surroundings to protect him from harm or any mechanical injury. We must be educated about safety and must be aware of different social customs and religious practices to assess dangers. The nurse must be knowledgeable in both biological and social sciences and must have the ability to assess basic human needs.
The patient is considered as healthy when he/she meets the 14 basic needs. The nurse must be a substitute for what the patient lacks;nurse must be a helper with the patient when the patient cannot meet his basic needs;nurse must be a partner with the patient to formulate the care plan together.
I am also inspired to VIRGINIA HENDERSON because she is the FIRST LADY OF NURSING and the FIRST TRULY INTERNATIONAL NURSE.She is the theorist who wants agood ambiance, she also aadvocatefor the introduction ofpsychiatricnursing in the curriculum and serve on a committee such a course at eastern state hospitalin williamsburg,in Virginia..
On her theory 14 BASIC HUMAN NEEDS she says that the nurse is temporarily of unconcious.for my own understandig we need to be clean like her she also want a good ambiance. Also in the hospital we need to have the 14 FUNDAMENTAL NEEDS OF HUMAN.
Definition of Nursing and the 14 Components of Nursing Care by Virginia Henderson showed her ideas on how a person could be healthy.
For her, if you had the 14 Basic Human Needs, you are healthy but if not, it only means that you are not healthy. It is simple and understandable.
Based on the article, she recognized early on the importance of an outcomes orientation, health promotion, continuity of care, patient advocacy, multidisciplinary scholarship, integration of the arts and sciences, and boundary spanning which promotes wellness.
In her definition of a nurse/nursing, nurses are the one to assist the patient's needs in order to help the sick recover from his/her sickness.
Like Nightingale's Environmental Theory, the 14 Basic Components of Human Needs also deals with the proper waste disposal, sanitation and proper ventilation.
This theory was such a help for nurses, patients and for all.

henderson's commitment in the field of nursing care provided the birth and usage of the 14 basic components of nursing care which is of great importance to the nursing interventions.
the zealous first lady of nursing, the fulle efforts that she had exerted serves as an effective medium of renedering care to the patients; the nurses are given the guidelines on which they could conform to establish and exercise the sense of professionlism..
her contribution has given way to te reverence and independece of the actions of nurses as she clearly specified the efficient ways of interacting with the patients, the physician and the other members of the healthcare team..
with her theory, the nurses do not only teach the patients on how to become independent individuals; more importantly, she has engrave the same word to the nursing profession:
...independence...
independence in a way that the nurses are able to function independently, even without too much instructions from the physicians...
henederson offered the sense of interaction, independendence and empirical knowledge that render the concepts of being efficient nurses to assist those people in need...
At our slsu blogsite..i just frankly to say that im so amazed in her life contribution and achievements about nursing it must been a good inspiration to other. Its proves how she gave her best in continuing her studies about what is the purpose of her theory.
She do her best to shared this idea and knowledge to serve other. Her 14 Basic Human Needs focus the our health needed. It may simplify our mind and body connection that "It cannot be moves when we have no this Basic Human Needs".The person who had no this needed, it means that were not healthy.

I was been amazed to virginia henderson for having a honorary degrees in different universities a true intelligent woman that formulate a theory and a study about the 14 basic human needs that she emphasized the true significant of it to us..,a cool and a glamorous theorist that brought a great influence in nursing profession..
Thank you mam danela..,i appreciate your journals as well as your enchanting chikas..,hope for more..,thanks
I think the importance of her definition and 14 fundamentals of nursing care is that we can apply these 14 fundamentals of nursing care as our basis in finding the condition of a person.
It seems it predicts a person if he/she is a healthy person or not.
Without those basis we cannot easily know those what we must apply in our patient as our remedy.
But I strictly conclude that before we apply of this 14 Basic human Needs...we must first apply it in ourself not only for those times that we are in our duties but also we must maintain it in our nature
In the other side...Peplau also explored the world and influenced her Psychodynamic Nursing in Blooming nurses in that time so I got surprised that henderson got the title as the First Truly International Nurse. But I am satisfied of her title because she is deserving for that case.

Virginia Avenel Henderson, as I can see, is a very observant person with a very poetic personality. Why? because personally her theory is candidly unique and her quotation about nursing is quite inspiring . Also, I never thought that these needs can be classified as a theory when compiled together.
Though Henderson's theory failed to passed the criteria for clarity by the scientific community for the reason that it is very broad. It sure is clear to me. Why? Because I have fully understood her concept and its simple to understand.
I hope I'll be able to meet these needs as often as I like. Her theory made me realize that the subject or the focus of creating a theory is easy but its just too simple for us to notice. Agree?
Thanks to Virginia I have been introduced to things that I have long forgotten.
Virginia Henderson is the theorist of 14 basic human needs. She described the roles of the person and the nurse as to be an independent. In her statement she defined of nursing as, "The unique function of the nurs is to assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that he would perform unaided if he had the necessary strength, will or knowledge. And to do this in such a way as to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible" (Henderson, 1966, p. 15).
In her theory she explained that a nurse should help the patient to be an independent.

Virginia Henderson her idea about 14 Fundamentalls needs of Human were very useful in Nursing practice. It can be used in Assesing and Evaluating the patient's needs. With this 14 needs we will know which are lacking to the patient. As a student nurse we can help them to meet thier needs to maintain or achieve health. We can also assist the patient at times of thier sickness and dependence to encourage and support to meet their goals and later become independence. Her contribution to amprove studies in nursing field with the use of library for research purposes. She also teach nursing profession in different country. She deserve to receive those pretigious awards.
Her death was very sad there are chocolates and icecream as saying goodbye to her friends and relatives. But her work and contribution leave us a big help in NURSING PROFESSION.

Definition of Nursing and the 14 Components of Nursing Care is very important to distinguished whether a person is healthy or not.It is because these theory states the needs of a person. When a person lacks one of these Basic Human Needs,he or she will be classified as a unhealthy person.
For us nurses it is very significant to us in a way that it help us to identify what kind of intervention we will give to our patient. It will help us to classify what kind of illness does a patient have.
Virginia Avenel Henderson had contributed the genuine definition of nursing by providing the 14 Basic Components of Nursing Care which made her the quintessential nurse of the twentieth century.
With the enormity of her educational background she had had propagated a concrete components of basic nursing care which served as a behoof for patients.
She tasked nurses as direct caregiver in which their primary concern is to succor the patients in gaining independence. If any of the enlisted components isn't met by a patient, hence, a nurse is liable to make the patient meet these needs for rapid recovery.
In my own perspective, she engendered as the new Nightingale of her time due to various accolades bestowed to her.

"Virginia Henderson" is "The First Lady of Nursing" and "The First Truly International Nurse". It is truly her honor to be called as that. And in her honor, for me she is deserved to be called as the first lady of nursing and as the first truly international nurse because of her good ability and personality as a woman not only as a nurse.
Her qoutation really inspires me as a nursing student. It gives me more strenght to do my job in the future as a nurse. It will serve as my guide to be a best partner and nurse to my patients and to those who needs care. It touches my heart from the first time I read it and I said to my self that it is not only my role, not only my responsibility, but it is also my devotion and my great mission in life....to serve 'till the last breath I take!!!
Her achievements and contributions in the nursing field excels in all phases of our profession. It helps us to do our task in relation to the other health care team.
Her contribution in the nursing profession like the "14 basic human needs" helps us to be a healthy human being. It helps us to care about ourselves and to be an independent caretaker of our own life. With the guide of her 14 components of nursing care, we can manage our life better.
Virginia Henderson' life will be my inspiration to achieve my goals in life. ",
Virginia Avenel Henderson and her 14 Components of Nursing Care. She is known to be the first lady of nursing and then first truly international nursing. Her contribution in the nursing profession helps a lot. As far as I understand, when people meet the 14 basic needs they are healthy, fit, and in good physical shape but if not, they are no rather than nothing, unhealthy one. She defined nurse as the one who is responsible for assisting the patients for them to meet their needs and to cope for their sickness or to recover from their condition. In addition, in her theory she says that the role of the nurse is not only to help the patients to feel better and to be independent in the same way. However, at the same time, the nurses must also know that they should function in their own, independently. Henderson did her job, she has conceptualized her theory even though it did not pass to clarity, but then it is easy to understand and identify.
Like Nightingale and Peplau, she also deserves those impressive awards because of her contributions to the nursing field. She never hesitates to share what she knew and she did not show to everybody a bit of selfishness. Henderson died in different way, after chocolate and ice cream party, without knowing the reason, maybe because she wants to take a rest after long time.
Her 14 components of nursing care help a lot nowadays in nursing profession.

gud pm i learned that virginia henderson is the first lady of nursing and first truly international nurse. all of her 14 basic needs can really use by the nurse to serve all of them to the patient just to be cured and healthy. but first the nurse must study, understand and learn more about the culture of the patient before she gives the 14 human basic needs to patient. no wonder she has many awards and honors. her plan of redesigning of the hospital back in world war 1 can definitely help the patient more comfortable and will get well soon because the hospitals back then are really dirty.

Good Afternoon Ma'am,
Virginia Henderson's theory helps me and a lot of students to easily know the conditions and something lacking in a person's well-being.
With her 14 Basic Human Needs, we can easily know that the person is ill or having something wrong with his/her well-being.
She is truly a great person because she showed me that to be a nurse you must be persistent in your works and theories that you are doing to achieve success and to maintain the top peak of victory. Henderson also gave me ideas how to formulate a problem that almost every person has and with it, our group formulated and organized a project for our Mid Term.
Thank You!

Virginia Avenel Henderson also known as the “First Lady of Nursing” and the “First Truly International Nurse” was an intellectual person that she made a theory that deals in helping the nurses or even an ordinary being to identify the complaint of a sick person and to know where to focus in one's aspect. And this theory, the "Definition of Nursing" and the "14 Components of Nursing Care" made an immense impact in the nursing world.
In her theory she mentioned all the aspect of a human's basic needs indorder to promote a healthy and vigorous living, such as; breathing normally, eating and drinking adequately, eliminating body wastes, moving and maintaining a desirable posture, sleeping and resting, selecting suitable clothes, etc.
With the presence of this concepts, we can identify a person's problem immediately.

In the role of the nurse as a health care provider.. The nurse must be knowledgeable in both biological and social sciences and must have the ability to assess basic human needs.
Henderson also emphasized the need to view the patient and his family as o single unit..

Virginia Henderson “14 components of nursing care"
The theory of Virginia is very helpful to our life she states the important
Of the some simple things like just breathing normally, sleeping and resting, selecting suitable clothes, etc; is important to our everyday living that sometimes we just ignore it.
She also said that the nurse must function independently to the physician.
And the nurse must assist the patient..

She deserves to be the most famous nurse of the 20th Century. She conceptualized the 14 fundamental needs of human for us to know the function, roles and responsibilities of nurse in related with the patient, physician and other members of the health care team.
Her theory teaches us how to formulate goals and perform the basic human needs. On her definition of what a nurse is...
She explained that a patient needs assistance to achieve health and independence.
An individual, both sick and well needs care all through the walks of his/her life..And this care rendered by nurse must lead to the independence of the patient.

Virginia Henderson is very inspiring. She has a big help in the nursing profession. her dedication and loyalty to her work is one of a kind. in deed her theory of The 14 Components of Basic Human Needs has a great help. through her vast research and studies i have discover new things.
I have learned that as a person you should have the 14 Basic Human Needs, because it pertains to your wellness as a person.
thanks to Virginia because her theory has contributed a lot in our nursing profession.
Virginia Henderson herself has a very interesting characteristics. She conducted many ways just to approach the other nurses to know her theory, to develop the proper care and to give the primary needs of the patient. For me her theory is broad that it comprises many topic yet it is easily understood because even if the readers is not a part of a health care team or do not have background about caring of the sick he or she may somewhat get knowledge in giving the needs if the patient.

she is called first lady of nursing, first truly international nurse. Virginia Henderson contributed a lot our profession. Her experience in 1918 in the world war 1 open up her mind to formulate a theory to help us to guide in our practice to have a basis. she is an educated woman she deserve to achieve a numerous awards she receive. In writing and documaentation is important to a theorist they deliver there message by means of writing it is a powerful and good tools in spreading there idea.
"the nurse is temporarily the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind, a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece for those too weak or withdrawn to speak and so on." for me this message deliver us nursing students to be the guide to the needy person. we serve them our best like and help them to meet their basic needs. we should formulate the care plan together. Her 14 Fundamentals Needs of human is essential to us but she state that if a person avhieve this 14 basic needs it means that she is physically fit.
she is also beautiful in and out. In her nursing metaparadigm person state that complete and independent being with biological, sociological and spiritual components. in nursing she describe nurse as the helper to assist the individual, sick or well person. and in health she explain that in achieving the 14 basic needs you are a well person. and in Environment it is seems like she followed the theory of florence nightingale because of the 7 components (light, temp, air, movement, atmospheric pressure, proper waste disposal etc.)
I'm inspired because even in her last breath the concern in the nursing profession is in her mind. And in her last view to her she want's to look very beautiful. she is in peace when she died.

"The 14 Components of Nursing Care"was really a theory but a philosopy but because that it gave nursing a knowledge that will the student to identify the patients need it was consider as theory...according to her a person was healthy when he/she have the 14 basic nursing care...As a nursing student I must really appreciate this theory because someday i might be the one to care for the patients and help him meet the 14 basic nursing care..
The Definition of Nursing and the "14 Components of Nursing Care" by the glamorous Virginia Avenel Henderson is a fantastic one. Because it shows a lot of important needs of a patient and what will the nurse can fulfill this needs. And it's also describes or define different phases how to be successful to the nurse to fulfill the needs. And in this definition of Henderson there's also the relationship of a nurse and a patient, and what the meaning of being a healthy individual..

Virginia Henderson became very popular and a living nursing theorist in her time. Even now, her memory and contribution to the nursing knowledge never fade.
I can compare Henderson's 14 Basic Human Needs to the Hierarchy of Needs of Abraham Maslow. To live a better life, to achieve/attain contentment, a person should have this 14 Basic Human Needs accdg. to Henderson.
In nurse-patient relationship of Henderson, the nurse could help the patient attain his basic human needs, by becoming a substitute for the patient, letting the patient's feeling/wants express, nurse should become the patient's helper and partner because the patient has that unhealthy condition that's why the nurse became responsible for the patient's attainment of his basic needs and the nurse take care of his patients with sincerity and dedication because that's what the real essence of nursing care.
..Virginia Henderson-Definition of Nursing and 14 Components of Nursing Care.. I am very thankful because of her theory she shows the 14 basic human needs that nurses should now, because if a nurse know this basic human needs it can help her to know the needs of the patients,, and it is easily for a nurse to attend the needs of the patients..
..In her theory she defined nursing as a person who helped sick person for his fast recovery..
..and being a nurse we should all know the factors for the fast recovery of our patient..
..in her theory we can also know that we can say that a person is healthy when he meets the 14 basic needs..
..by means of her theory she also show the roles of the nurse as a substitute for the patient, as a helper for the patient and as a partner with the patient, and the nurses should know their relationship for their patient to help their patient to show their feelings and also a nurse to attend the basic needs of her patients.

Virginia Henderson's life and theory
also inspired me a lot...
her devotion in the nursing profession was a great contribution in our chosen carer..
she emphasized the nurses as the eye for the newly blind, the locomotion for the infant, the satisfying role of the mother to her child etc...
she got the idea of formulating a theory which focuses on the basic needs of a human being which
are necessary for the nurse to give to their patients...
she also emphasized that
the health promotion is is important rather than the care of the sick, which is related in the saying that,
"prevention is better than cure"

Hendreson, Virginia Avernal defines nursing as""assisting individuals to gain independence in relation to the performance of activities contributing to health or its recovery".She is "THE FIRST LADY OF NURSING", and "THE FIRST TRULY INTERNATIONAL NURSE".
She categorized nursing activities into 14 components, based on human needs. She described the nurse's role as substitutive (doing for the person), supplementary (helping the person), or complementary (working with the person), with the goal of helping the person become as independent as possible.
Her statement "The nurse is temporarily the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind,a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece for those too weak or withdrawn to speak and so on."

one of her greatest contributions in this field is the introduction of the 14 fundamental needs of human.it taught us that a human should possess all of it components or else you are considered as ill.now we are more informed about the things that we should know about caring a patient.
we are now also involved in the four basic steps such as assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation phase.
as a nurse we should function different roles to our patient like a substitute for the patient, as a helper for the patient and as a partner with the patient.

This gives idea to the nurse on how to care their patient and shows the responsibilities of the nurses in their patients. I'm very impressed to the theory of Virginia Henderson which helps nurses a lot in the care for the patients. I'm very thankful to you mam because of the opportunity of reading this article that is lot of information and gives me an additional information.

Virginia Henderson stated that an individual who possesses all the 14 Basic Needs is "healthy". Her theory gives me the knowledge that a person should not only have the food, water, shelter and clothing to be healthy but we should also consider our social, emotional and spiritual life. I'd also learned that the nurse should help the patient to meet the needs he is lacking for a fast recovery.

virginia henderson is known as the "the first truly international nurse" and "the first lady of nursing". i owe her because she gathered lots of awards during her nursing education and contribute memorable and useful contribution. in the field of nursing, she made a remarkable memory by her contribution. someday, i wanted to be like her, follow her footsteps because of her succession in nursing career. i wanted to be as successful and popular as her in nursing but the one factor that i will not follow is her zero love life.
in her remarkable and useful theory, the 14 components of basic nursing care and/or fundamental needs of person, she emphasized the meeting of needs of the patient in order to promote the state of wellness he/she needs to attain.this theory is very useful in the nurse actions or interventions and improve nursing practice.

taking care of our own self is really hard to do,but it is not an excuse for us not to take care on it because it is God's gift and it is our responsibility to gave it an importance.Virginia Henderson gave us an idea on how to be healthy not only physical but all the aspects of life, all we need to do is to abide it,so we must thank her for doing such a wonderful theory that is really applicable in our times.
Henderson’s 14 Basic Human Needs helps us nurses how to identify the needs of the patient. If the patient didn’t meet all the 14 Basic Human Needs it means he is not healthy. She also identified the different roles and function of health care team, which helps us to the speedy recovery of the patient.
It teaches us how to become virtuous nurse and how to care the patient in a proper way.
It is our responsibility to help the patients if he didn’t meet his needs.

Henderson's 14 Components of Nursing Care was still being utilizes until now. It is a worthful theory for it informs every individual (not only to nurses) about distinctive rules on how to promote a well, balance health and lives and peaceful death. and also, because of her theory, the status of a nurse in the hospital lies in superior line. It also requires harmony essential for the Nurse-Physician relationship and for the nursing team, to have a common goal and coordination necessary for a patient to have fast and successful recovery. This theory is applicable in any other aspects which truly gives emphasis to human's health, good conditons and far from illness and diseases.

Virginia Avenel Henderson life was a unique one. Known to be the First Lady of Nursing and also the First Truly International Nurse. Also formulated the 14 Components of Basic Nursing Care. When I first read her article I got curious why she called the First Lady in Nursing and First Truly the International Nurse. Maybe I am wondering why because Nightingale and Peplau was the first one before her. Her life is also inspiring like the other two theorists. Her being unique, to the other theorist get my interest with her about her life and theory. As our teacher discuss her and gave me more knowledge in different theorist it became clear to me how she spend her life through caring the health of others. She inspires me a lot especially when her memory and hearing started to fail but still she continue her goals and plans in the health and wellness of the people. She was also the first one who introduced a different style in nursing research with the used of a library by creating a blog site that tackles about the nursing care and profession. Her work was great and she was famous because Sigma Theta Tau's International Nursing Library bears her name. Her death was a unique one also because She was a brave woman to be able to look strong and not tell to everyone that she has a great illness. She also uses her talent and skills on how the people became interested with her because she was a gracious hostess and have an intelligent sense of humor. Her death was in different way because she did not want the people to worry about her and her health condition. Her 14 Components of Basic Nursing Care is very applicable for all of the people in order to have a highest level of health condition. It is easily understood and simple to apply and do that in our everyday life. Her theory is very helpful nowadays especially in the nursing and other medical professions.
It really interests me a lot about the learning of the different nursing theorist and their contributions. It also helps us to gain more knowledge on how we can be a good and useful nurse to others.
Thank you ma’am dani for another information about nursing professions. I really learned a lot from your teaching career and I hope you will spread your learning’s to other people.

Virginia Henderson's "Definition of Nursing and '14 components of Nursing Care'" is a great help to the nursing profession. She defined the unique function of the nurse is to assist the individual to perform activities that helps to its recovery, also to teach them to be independent and the different nursing responsibilities and relationships with the client, with the physician and as a member of the health care team. For her, an individual is healthy if the 14 basic needs of a human (breathe normally, eating and drinking normally..etc) is achieve which is true. Her works are used by the nursing profession to achieve the needs of the clients which give her the title of "the First Lady of Nursing".

virginia henderson's description of a nurse gave a big mark in my heart.she defines nurse... as the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind,a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece for those too weak or withdrawn to speak and so on.this quote from her inspires me.being a nurse does not only mean a person who takes care of his/her patient but a person who shares his/her life to other people.
she made the life of the sick more comfortable by means of designing a hospital like a hotel.
for her a person is healthy if that person meets the 14 basic needs of humans, and i really agree with her.one must meet the 14 basic needs to survive.
The theory of Virginia Henderson is one of the important theorist because as a nurses you must be provide physicians data about the safety needs of the patient and she emphasized the importance of nursing independence from, and interdependence on the different health care professions.........

"14 Basic Human Needs"
This theory emphasized the 14 basic needs of humans. This includes the physical, emotional, social and psychological needs. Fpr the patient to achieve health,
he must be able to meet his need for support system which in many cases provided by the family. She also emphasized that these needs are vital to the patients. In the role of the nurse as a health care provider, the nurse must be knowledgable in both biological and social sciences and must have the ability to assess basic human needs. In order for the patient to recover from his illness, his needs must be provided.
Henderson's theory is not only applicable in nursing profession, but also for everyone. For her, if you meet these needs, you are a healthy person.

Virginia Henderson's theory, 14 Basic Human Needs, is important. The following human needs are considered as a factor or things that must be fulfilled.
14 Basic Human Needs:
*breathing normally
*eating and drinking adequately
*eliminating body wastes
*moving and maintaining a desirable position
*sleeping and resting
*selecting suitable clothes
*maintaining normal body temperature by adjusting clothing and modifying the environment
*keeping the body clean and well groomed to promote integument (skin)
*avoiding dangers in the environment
*communicating with others
*worshipping according to one's faith
*working in such a way that one feels a sense of accomplishment
*participating in various forms of recreation
discovering curiosity that leads to normal development
According to Henderson, an individual becomes unhealthy if one of 14 basic human needs is not met. And I believed from her sayings because through reading and analyzing her theory of fourteen basic human needs, it is clear enough and very understandable that if you did not met each needs, you cauld be an unhealthy individual. And so, for me, her theory adds additional knowledge for us to become more healthy. I salute Henderson because she used her wealth in helping others. She's a generous woman. She did not discriminate people who's not in her level of life. She's a fantastic woman.

Henderson’s 14 components of nursing care showed us the right procedure in giving care to patients because if one of the components is lost the patient cannot achieve proper health. I really appreciate her theory because it gives importance about the safety needs of the patients regarding the dangers in his surroundings like for example the structure of a hospital. According to her “The nurse is temporarily the consciousness of the unconscious”, it means if the patient cannot function fully the nurse is his knowledge and the one who acts for him. The nurse works with the patient so that he/she can achieve health and independence. Thank you ma’am.

After our discussion about her theory, 14 Basic components of Nursing, I conclude that the 14 fundamental needs should be observed properly and should be given to the person to keep his/her good condition and if not, illness might occur. I also conclude that a nurse asses the patient for the 14 basic fundamental needs and identify what element is lacking(assesment Phase). the nurse also plan to meet the needs fit to the doctors prescribed plan ( planning phase).
Then she will use the 14 basic needs in answering the factors contributes to the illness, she will depend her actions according to her observations (Implementation phase). Then evaluate if the goals are met or not.
Her theory was applicable not only in nursing but also on our daily life scenario.

Greetings of Peace!!!
Virginia Henderson defined nursing as "assisting individuals to gain independence in relation to the performance of activities contributing to health or its recovery." She focuses her nursing care on the supplementary needs of patient as required of being wellness physically, mentally feed.
Her theory is very consistent although she did not consider her work as theory. She defined nursing as many times with different concept and focus on it. Her theory also passes through the different phase which is assesment, planning, implementation and evaluation, which serves asa a guide in the fundamentals of 14 basic needs of a patient.
And she beleives that the mind and body are inseparable. If mind is in manifestation or in bad condiition, the body is also affected dueto the malfunction of the mind. And therefore, the relation between the body and mind is directly proportional to each other.
"The unique function of the nurse is to assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that he would perform unaided if he had the necessary strength, will or knowledge. And to do this in such a way as to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible." It is also one of her famous definition, which she include the general essence of the nurses. She a glamourous all over her personality. Not only physical but also her inside personality because she of her concern to the patients.

Virginia Henderson's theory which is the 14 Basic Human Needs greatly helped the nursing profession especially in the nursing practice. Because it focuses on decision-making and is deliberate in such a way that in every step of the Nursing Process, it plays very important roles. Miss Henderson formulated some steps in solving problems regarding the nursing care, such as the Assessment Phase, Planning Phase, Implementation Phase and the Evaluation Phase. With these phases in nursing by Henderson, nurses will have a clear view in caring their patients.
This theory explains whether a patient is healthy or not by using the 14 Basic Human Needs... Because of this, the nurse will know which factor his patient lacks. Then he is able to make a solution for that particular problem regarding his patient.
This theory improves the nursing profession to have a better implementation of caring for their patients because nurses will know the basic needs of their patients. They will be able to solve and sustain the needs of their patients and it will result in a fast recovery.
As a nursing student, this theory helps me to understand the common needs of my 'soon to be' patients and in the future I will have the capacity and enough knowledge to resolve them...

Her "14 basic human needs"shows that in every little thing that we did is very essential to our body.Everything that we take should be natural like fresh air, clean water and healthy foods .it really helps to distinguish a healthy person,as what henderson said that having these 14 basic needs means you are healthy,.and those who are not able to have it means they are unhealthy.

Virginia Henderson's 14 components of Nursing Care is really a great contribution in Nursing because in this theory she said that if even one part of your body is not functioning well you're considered as unhealthy. because in her perception in nursing you;re healthy if all of your body parts is functioning well.

She 's always with her beautiful attire everywhere that's why everybody calls her as the "First Lady of Nursing". The hotel-like concept for every hospital was originated by her. I admire her for being the most famous nurse in the 20th century and for being the first to receive the prestigious Christianne Reimann Award.

Nurses should be the helper of the patient in their day-to-day activities. They will act as a guide, a friend, a partner, and a family member so that they can help ease the routine of the patients and most of all, to help them in their needs, which is basically, the jobs of every nurses.

The Definition of Nursing and the 14 Basic Human needs of Virginia Henderson plays very important role in the field of nursing until these days. She states that the health or the wellness of one person is dependent to these needs and the person must meet the 14 Basic Human Needs. Her theory also consists of four phases the ASSESSMENT PHASE, the nurse must assess the 14 needs of the patient and check which one is lacking or fully met. The PLANNING PHASE involves giving the plan to meet the needs of the patient. Then the IMPLEMENTATION PHASE, the nurses uses the 14 basic needs in answering the factors that are contributing to the illness state of the patient. Lastly the EVALUATION PHASE, the nurse and the patient review the relationship and decides whether the goald are met or not. Henderon focuses on decision-making. And she states that every step in Nursing Process plays very important role. Her theory is complex rather than simplistic. And the definition provided by Henderson are broad in scope.

Henderson's theory about 14 basic components of human needs, was very significant in our nursing intervention. Her thoery that a person must meet or achieve, with her theory,it teaches a direct caregiver and teaches the patient to be independent even though a nurse are not there to function for the patients,it gave a big contribution in our nursing profession. The nurse has important role to help both the sick and the well individual.
,,Vigina Henderson's "14 Basic Human Need" was very helpful in evry individual. It is not only for the illed peron but also for the well one. Virginia Henderson..again, another theorist who has an amazing wonderful contribution in the nursing proffession. Her theory of 14 Basic Needs are really one of the factors that can easily ease the patients sufferings. Her achievements were also great, numerous awards was awarded to her andi must say that Virginia Hendersion was one of the most aspiring theorists in our proffession.Us nurses, or i can say student nurses have the responsibility to do what the patients cannot do. We can act as a substitute for the patients who cannot do what they want, for example, the patient can't call the doctor when something's happenning,us nurses will do the call.Nurses act as a helper for the patient, if the patinet cannot eat by himself..there is the nurse who can help me move their body parts. And as a member of the healthcare team,us nurses should work independently and we must not occupy the things that will others do.
I can say that her theory was great and it is useful not only in caring for our patients but in our daily living..

Virginia Henderson as The First Lady of Nursing and The First Truly International Nurse gave a greater contributions in the fileds of nursing which she portrays the essentials needs of human being which an individual must possess. Once any one of this lacks or loss a person is considered unhealthy. 14 Components of Nursing Care formulated by Virginia Henderson is very much useful in today’s settings. Actually, I was quite shocked that those simple things that we do are considered theory when compiled together, na parang “Ah theory pala ‘tong mga ginagawa ko.” I really am not aware. But because Henderson and her theory were introduced to me, ngayon, alam ko na, na I am using her theory since then pa pala.
Her theory was simple yet very applicable. I don’t understand why it didn’t pass clarity but her theory was clear for me, I understand it well. She also played an emphasis on the function of the nurse in relation with the patient, physician and the health team.
Her definition of nursing was the widely accepted one. So we should thank her for that. And another, I like her quotation for nursing. The roles of the nurse were emphasized there so much.

.....GOOD DAY...!!!
Virginia's definition of nursing clearly states the purpose of nursing that nurses must act. A nurse can be a substitute for the patient when he is lacking a need. Through her, the patient will still be able to do what he can't do. But the nurse must know her limitations-- that she must be a substitute only for a while and help the patient assess a need independently. As a nurse, she also serves in a team where she will do only her duties assigned to her and the jobs that a nurse should do. Virginia's statement that a nurse works independently of a physician serves as a fact for nurses to be ab observable one. She must keenly observe what is the pathological causes of the patient's lack of need which requires a nurse to have a education.
What I have stated lately was some of her contribution to practice and education. In terms of research, she advocated the use of library research which is true to be essential for nurses to gain better knowledge.
For me, her definition is simple and clear although the critics did not pass it on clarity.

This Theory is important in every person's life.....
Virginia Henderson's theory "14 Basic Human Needs" is very useful fo the patients because they must be able to meet their needs for support system to achieve health. She also stated the three levels compromising the nurse-patient relationship. When the patient cannot function fully, the nurse seves as the substitute. In situations where the patient cannot meet his basic needs, the nurse serves as a helper. As partners, the nurse and the patent formulate the care plan together.
This theory of Viginia Henderson is very helpful and important for me because I learned that the basic needs of a patient must able to meet and give to them. I also learned that the nurse should be responsible enough and it plays many important roles in taking care of the patient
Virginia Henderson conceptualize 14 fundamental needs of human. She also emphasize the to view the patient and his family as a single unit. The nurse also became a caregiver of the patient if he/she cannot meets his basic needs according to her nurse patient relationship. She say that if the person completely have the 14 basic needs the patient or the person is healthy.Because of her theory the nurse can easily perform her jobs and help the patient to become healthy.

The Definition of Nursing and the "14 Components of Nursing Care" is very truthful for each and every individual. Its concern is broadly useful for nursing profession. But because it is so broad, it a bit hard to patch up in every detail in it.

..Henderson surmised that "a definition of nursing should imply an appreciation of the principle of physiological balance."
..she stated that caring for patients was the "essential element of nurse's service." Henderson encouraged nurses to identify new needs beyond the 14 she enumerated. Henderson believed that nursing research is essential for nursing practice in the age of technological advances. Her definitions of nursing and her enumeration of the 14 basic nursing functions present a perspective aimed at explaining a totality of nursing behavior.

Virginia's theory implicates that the nurse must be of service to the patient whatever the patient may require to achieve a healthy status. He is the love of a suicidal, a leg of an amputee, the eyes of a newly blind and the voice of a mute. The simplest explanation for that is, he helps the patient recover from his sickness whatever the cost may be.
"14 Basic Human Needs"
The 14 components of nursing care encompass all possible functions of nursing.
The nurse has a unique function to help sick or well individuals, also the nurse functions as a member of a medical group. The nurse can assess basic human needs. According to Henderson, the patient or any individual have to possess the 14 basic needs which she had identified. For her, if you possess those needs, you will be considered as a healthy individual, and healthy individuals may be able to control their environment..

Gud evening Ma'am Oloresisimo..
Who is Virginia Henderson?..She is the First Lady of Nursing because she is a lady that doesn't go out without having a make-up. Base on her concepts and theory, she is definitely concern with the patient for the reason that if the patient cannot do a certain work or job, the nurse will be the substitute and the helper, in other words the nurses are the one that helps the patient fulfill their tasks and make them an independent person.Another reason is that the nurses are the one that serves as the resource person for the patient in case of planning a care. The other focus of Virginia Henderson's theory is the nurse because the nurse as a member of the healthcare team works and contributes responsibilities for their team, but it doesn't mean that all the works for the team is in charge with nurse rather their are assigned tasks that each member must do and accomplish.
"The nurse is temporarily the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind,a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece for those too weak or withdrawn to speak and so on."
Her assumptions teaches us that the nurses should be the guide of the patients to attain good health and life. But not only them, all the people can do it, for example by taking care of the sick person at home every person can do it, by simply giving medicine, foods and care.
The 14 basic needs of Virginia Henderson serves us my guide and reminders in my day to day living to help myself and other people.

Virginia Henderson formulated the Definition of Nursing and the “14 Components of Nursing Care"" In this theory she define what is the 14 basic needs of a man namely to breath normally, to eat and drink adequately, to eliminate body wastes, to move into desirable postures, to sleep,to select suitable dress, to maintain body temperature,to be clean and wll groomed, to avoid danger, to caommunicate, to worship, to work with accomplishment, to play and lastly to discover new things.
She also stated that we should not only focus on the physical aspect but also to the other aspects of life.
Virginia Henderson is the true first lady of nursing. She is full of passion for her profession and her intentions of helping others. She didn’t want her time, instead used it in gathering skills and wisdom by attending to different establishment of education. And with this, she has changed the life of many people in need. Her kind heart and helping hands were always ready to give assistance. With her grace and positive outlook in life, she surely touched the lives of many.
Before I am not aware of the 14 basic needs of human being, but when I came to know this theorist I am enlightened. I never thought that these said needs of an individual can affect his health if they are not met or achieved. Virginia Henderson carefully laid out this theory and come up with an effective ways of curing and treating patients. The nurses’ roles revolve around helping the client meet these needs, and assist them in the performance of the required activities. The skills that are gained from studying her theory can be of great help for nurses, especially in functioning as the substitute, helper, or partner of the patient.

"A woman with a silky drawl, bright blue eyes, wispy curls and beautiful clothes, an embodiment of a southern gentlewoman. Incarnation of Greek varieties -- the good, the true and the beautiful". These are the words that best describe Virginia Avenel Henderson who is such an elegant woman that has a passion for nursing. A woman that has a heart to help the individual recover from such illness by formulating the "14 Components of Nursing Care".
“The nurse is temporarily the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind, a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece for those too weak or withdrawn to speak and so on.”These are the words of Virginia Henderson, which exhibits the true definition of nursing.
Henderson formulated the 14 Fundamental Needs of humans which are:
1. Breathe normally
2. Eat and drink adequately
3. Eliminate body wastes
4. Move and maintain desirable postures
5. Sleep and rest
6. Select suitable clothes—dress and undress
7. Maintain body temperature within normal range by adjusting clothing and modifying the environment
8. Keep the body clean and well groomed and protect the integument
9. Avoid dangers in the environment and avoid injuring others
10. Communicate with others in expressing emotions, needs, fears, or opinions
11. Worship according to one’s faith
12. Work in such a way that there is a sense of accomplishment
13. Play or participate in various forms of recreation
14. Learn, discover, or satisfy the curiosity that leads to normal development and health and use the available health facilities.
According to her, when the 14 fundamentals are not met, the patient is not healthy. Accompanied by the nurse, it is the nurses' role to help the patient recover from illness. Here she also stated the functions of a nurse. These are: the nurse-patient relationship that has three levels, as a substitute, as a helper and as a partner; the nurse-physician and; the nurse as a member of the healthcare team.
Henderson's theory was a great help in our nursing field.

In her theory, the nurse-patient relationship was also emphasized. The patient requires assistance to achieve health and independence while the nurse serves as the substitute, helper, and the partner of the patient. A nurse should help the client/ patient to cope and accept his situation or state of being.

Virginia Henderson's theory 14 Basic Human Needs is all about the needs of the person to have a good health.Henderson viewed health as a quality of life and is very basic to a person fully.Henderson introduced the concept of the mind and body of a person as a inseparable the person should maintain physiological and emotional balance. The nurse should provide care to both sick and well individual.Henderson postulated the different nursing funtions in relation with the patient, physician and other health team and each type the nurse have different role and responsibilities. The contribution OF her theory in practice the nursing process Assesment phase, Planning phase, Implementation phase and the evaluation phase in solving the patients problem. In education she developed the three phases of curriculum development. In research henderson supported the use of research in improving the practice of nursing. This theory is useful in our nursing profession.
As I said in my comments in her life, the 14 Basic Human Needs is truly outstanding, because it really conceptualized the 14 Basic needs that a person should have. And it really helps a nurse to understand the needs of his patient. And also the Nurse-patient realtionship which are: nurse as a subtitute, helper and partner of the patient. Virginia Henderson, known as the First Lady of Nursing and also the First Truly International nurse, gave a vast contribution to nursing profession.
Her definition of nursing states that “The unique function of the nurse is to assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that he would perform unaided if he had the necessary strength, will, or knowledge, and to do this in such a way as to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible”. From this definition alone you will see that nurses doesn’t only concern with the recovering of the patient but also the patient’s independency.

Good Morning Mam Oloresisimo,
Virginia Henderson has been called the "First Lady of Nursing" and the "First Truly International Nurse".
Hildegard Peplau also explored the world and influenced her Psychodynamic Nursing in Blooming nurses in that time so I got surprised that henderson got the title as the First Truly International Nurse. But I am satisfied of her title because she is deserving for that case.
This theory improves the nursing profession to have a better implementation of caring for their patients because nurses will know the basic needs of their patients. They will be able to solve and sustain the needs of their patients and it will result in a fast recovery.
As a nursing student, this theory helps me to understand the common needs of my 'soon to be' patients and in the future I will have the capacity and enough knowledge to resolve them.

virginia henderson's 14 basic human needs is really helpful,in nursing.she introduced the concept of the mind and body of a person as inseparable.she gave emphasis in prioritizing health promotion as more important than the care of the sick. Not only we take care of our patient but also help them to become independent.she offer a sense of interaction to our patient and help them to become an independent one.her theory is really helpful in giving the best care we should give to our patients.

The nurse must have knowledge in both biological and social sciences and must have the ability to assess basic human needs. When the patient or a person meets the 14 basuc needs he/she is considered healthy. We should give priority or importance to this Basic Needs.
The theory of Virginia Henderson was great. It was very simple because it simply stated that if you do not meet the 14 basic needs, you are not healthy.

I can also relate the assumption of Henderson in the song “Because you loved me” because it also stated that the role of the nurse is to be the eyes of the client when they couldn’t see, to be the voice when they couldn’t speak, and to be the strength when they are weak. Henderson considers as the “First Truly International Nurse” because of the entire theorist, she is the one who traveled the world to teach and share. I’m so glad that she already visited our country. I admired her because she also received a lot of honorary awards. Because of her 14 Basic Human Needs, the nurse intervention can function easier and more organized. It serves as a guide in every phase that will be encountered. She also postulated the nurse functions in relation with the patient, physician and other member of the health team which also helps a lot for achieving the proper relationship that should be done. Also her support in developing nurses as a baccalaureate level and being an advocate in the use of library for research purpose is a great influence in research and education. Her death is a remarkable one to me because she made it an enjoyable one after partaking chocolate and ice cream party. It only shows that she really accepted death.

I relly much like her definition of nursing,it is true that in every aspects of health nurses are always there for them to cope to their incapabilities.

With Virginia Henderson's theory, nurses are then able to identify the basic needs of the patients, a nurse should be able to accomplish and give what is truly needed by patients. She identified different roles of the health care team that is very much useful.
Stating that the mind and body of the patient is inseparable, it made the health care team be conscious not only to the patient's physical health, but also in other aspects. Also for the health care team to work interdependently.
She also made a great contribution in our profession, and helped for the better wellness of a person.
Henderson Definition of Nursing and the 14 Components of Nursing Care focuses on the patient and the nurse. In her theory we clearly understand of how the nurse functions in relation with the following:
1.The Nurse-Patient Relationship
-the nurse as a substitute for the patient.
-the nurse as a helper to the patient.
-the nurse as a partner with the patient.
2.The Nurse-Physician Relationship
3.The Nurse as a Member of the Health Care Team
Aside on that, her theory states the 14 basic needs of human. For her if a person or human being doesn't complete the 14 basic needs, the person is not healthy because for her a healthy person is complete in 14 basic needs. And her 14 Basic Needs is similar to the Hierarchy of needs,(food, cloth, and shelter).Through on her 14 Basic Needs it helps a person to become healthy and avoid diseases and illnesses from our environment.

The 14 Fundamental Human Needs, it is the 14 needs of every individual and it is very evident that when you meet this activities/human needs you are considered as a health person. It is true, because it proves that when you can do this activities, you are independent and you do not need any help from other people.
The job of the nurse in this aspect, is when the patient doesn't have the capability to do this 14 basic needs. The 14 basic needs will help the nurse identify in which aspect the patient is lacking.

This theory of Henderson introduces the 14 basic needs of human. It is considered broad in scope because it could be applied in every setting such in a way that it covers all areas of nursing practice. This states that the 14 basic needs must be achieved completely by an individual in order to achieve also the quality of life. This is very basic for a person to function fully. This theory also teaches, especially student nurses to establish a good relationship to his patient and to the health care team specifically to the physician.:) According to Henderson, a nurse functions independently from the physician but must promote the plan of care developed by the health care team.:)
The Definition of Nursing and the "14 Components of Nursing Care" is very important and useful in nursing. Virginia Henderson defined nursing as assisting individuals to gain independence in relation to the performance of activities contributing to health or its recovery. She categorized nursing activities into 14 components, based on human needs. She described the nurse's role as substitutive (doing for the person), supplementary (helping the person), or complementary (working with the person), with the goal of helping the person become as independent as possible.
And it help the nurse and the patients. Her 14 components of basic nursing care augment the definition to provide an overall guide to the practice of nursing.

the nurse serves as the consciousness of the unconscious, the love of life for the suicidal, the leg of the amputee, the eyes of the newly blind, a means of locomotion for the infant, knowledge and confidence for the mother, the mouthpiece fot those to weak or withdrawn to speak and so on.
In this definition of Henderson on the job of a nurse, it comes to our mind that we, as future nurses, have very important role to a patients condition. We have responsibilties to patients who needs our help, support, and care for their life.
As Future nurses, let us help the weak, the disabled and as much as possible, all of those who need our help, our care, and our support.

Virginia Henderson’s conceptualization of 14 Fundamental needs of human is one of the remarkable worked that must be met to achieve good health. It really helps people in achieving or in promoting good health of an individual. The nurse function in relation with the patients, physician and other member of health team is to give or fulfill their respective duty and responsibilities. So, that the nurses must act as the substitute to the patients family if ever, because it is her responsibility to help, care, and also as their partner especially in the time of their sickness.
Virginia Avenel Henderson didn’t just emphasize the food and drink as our basic needs. She enumerated 14 Basic needs of humans which became a remainder for everyone of us to be healthy enough as we live in this world…
She also emphasizes for a person to be independent….
She gives the nurse’s specific responsibilities and roles, to the patient, physician and to the health team…
Her idea influenced a lot in the nursing world.....Thanks to Virginia Avenel Henderson....
She conceptualized the 14 Fundamental Needs of human because of this I can say that I am a healthy lady because according to her if you don't have these 14 basic needs you are not healthy enough.
Henderson called as "FIRST LADY OF NURSING"& the "FIRST TRULY INTERNATIONAL NURSE".She is an achiever and industrious. Because she was the first full-time nurse instructor. And I admire her because at the age 98 she died(march 1996).It is very seldom to be alive in that age now.
"THE NURSE IS TEMPORARILY THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE UNCONSCIOUS, THE LOVE OF LIFE FOR THE SUICIDAL, THE LEG OF THE AMPUTEE, THE EYES OF THE NEWLY BLIND, A MEANS OF LOCOMOTION FOR THE INFANT, KNOWLEDGE AND CONFIDENCE FOR THE MOTHER, THE MOUTHPIECE FOR THESE TOO WEAK OR WITHDRAWN TO SPEAK AND SO ON."
Henderson have a curly hair and she is a blue-eyed, very fashionable.
From this definition alone you will see that nurses doesn’t only concern with the recovering of the patient but also to the patient’s independency.
Her 14 Basic Human needs play a big role in our daily lives. This needs help patients to recover easily. And also for us to be healthy, we must attain these needs.

Henderson's theory....
greaty seen applied to nursing practice that really improves the nursing care nowadays. It guides the nurse and the nursing students as well..to cope the adjustments to your patient, helps us realize that during the time that a patient is sick he needs a nurse and the nurse will help the patient to get well by providing and helping the patient obtain the 14 basic human needs which serve as the basis of the wellness of the patient. The nurse can play different roles as long as it can hepl the patient to recover.
At first, Virginia Henderson's "14 Components of Basic Nursing care" cannot be considered as a theory. It lacks some criteria of being a theory. this is the reason why Peplau's theory was known first than her theory though Henderson was older. But because of her perseverance, it also became a theory. In this theory, it tackles the 14 basic needs of human. She got her idea from Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. As a nurse, we should provide these needs for our patients to attain health and independence. She believed that promotion of health is more important than curing the sick. this theory also opened doors for the development of new theorist. This theory was widely used in the nursing practice for the nursing process such as Assessment phase, planning phase, implementation phase & evaluation phase. Her theory is such a great help in the nursing profession.
I like the definition of Nursing of Virginia Henderson and I'm planning that,if I will become a nurse,I'll follow the concepts of the 14 Components of Nursing Care because it can really help me in knowing the needs of my patient and it will be the basis of the care to be rendered.

Her theory "14 Basic Nursing Care" had a great contribution to nursing profession and we can apply it in all settings. In her theory it discusses the 14 basic human needs. A Pleasant Morning Mrs Oleresisimo,
I think that this article made me realize the the 14 Basice Needs of Henderson is really important when it comes to Nursing Care because the 14 Basic Needs of Human Being is really related to our daily life like for example when were breathing, eating, drinking and many more.It also showed me as a aspiring nurse someday that the nurse is not only as a helper of the sick because i thought before that the nurse are only a helpers of the sick because my knowledge about nursing is very little but now that i realize that there are soo many more to find out about them like for instance they can be also as a substitute for the patient and also as the partner too and most especially I thought also that there is only a 1 kind of relationship between a nurse, the one we called nurse-patient relationship, but also there also a nurse-physician relationship and nurse as a member of the health team. But now I can really show my classmates that I'm not that stupid, that I can really be a competent nurse someday.
